Good Date Movie Review: The Devil Wears Prada Starring Ann Hathaway and Meryl Streep

As far as good date Movies go, most tend to lean towards the romantic comedy genre, and some (not most) may appeal to men as well. The Devil Wears Prada is one of them simply for the sake of the vivacious Ann Hathaway in a myriad of fashionable outfits that accent her natural beauty and versatility.

There is good entertainment value in The Devil Wears Prada for both guys and girls so it fits for a good date Movie quite well. The guys will just love the leggy models in many scenes not to mention Hathaway herself who surely steals scenes with hair and makeup glamour as well as some fabulous outfits that accent her great physique. So ther e will be enough to keep the men interested and alert through the Movie if just for visuals themselves.

The Devil Wears Prada is based on the best selling novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger, based on her personal experience at Vogue. A young aspiring journalist lands a job in a fashion magazine as an assistant, fully expecting to use the position as a stepping stone to a journalists job with another publication. Besides, we all have to pay the bills. Andy Sachs, the young student in question gets the job, but soon finds out that she has no style and works for a wildly eccentric and demanding boss named Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep.

Andy (Andrea) Sachs becomes slowly adjusted to the fast pace of the New York City fashion magazine with the help of one of the head designers Nigel , played convincingly by Stanley Tucci. He designs a whole new wardrobe for Andy and sends her to the company hair and makeup departments only to emerge as a striking brunette compared to the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Natalie Woods.

As the new Andy starts to excel at her position while making new connections in the industry, her personal life starts to break down causing hardship in her relationship with friends, boyfriend, and parents. At times, what may seem like insensitivity on her part is developed on screen so the viewer actually has more sympathy with what she is doing and trying to accomplish, essentially creating some inner debate as to which side is right or not.

You cant go wrong with this line up. Combine acting talent with an amusing and visually delightful array of models, clothing and New York City hustle and you have a good date Movie worth 3 hearts.
