Thats So Raven is a Show on Nickelodeon that has dramatically impacted the Television viewing Teens of Americans today and for what it is worth, the fact that a young intelligent larger-sized black woman can entertain Americas children without sexually based connotations has much to say for our children choice of entertainment and the Television industry. We may just be heading in the right direction with respect to role models for our children after all.
All too often, children of America will sit down to Television and watch less than appropriate Shows and this is due to more than one issue. The lack of proper supervision and lack of quality content that is available are two deep deciders in this outcome. The common after school babysitter, known to others as the Television, is far less safe than it was when its popularity first soared. One of America favorites was found to be the Cosbys, a Show based on the daily activities of a suburban black family.
Th is Show, still being aired today, took great pride in its content that was relevant and appropriate for family viewing. Many of our common entertainers of today revert to the common foul language and sexually oriented content to grasp the viewers attention, but not the Cosbys. Most likely that is where Raven attained such a good natured format of entertainment, as she was featured on that Show as Olivia; the granddaughter to the famous Bill Cosby.
Whether it was Cosbys family influence or her home upbringing that places Raven a cut above the rest, she knows exactly how to grasp the attention of Teens in an appropriate fashion and teach worthwhile lessons. With her current popularity soaring and Ravens recent venture into the pop music world, her influence will hopefully reach beyond the screen and touch the young Americans everywhere.
